Its no secret to most dog parents that as much as we love the summer days; our dogs find it incredibly difficult to adjust to the hot weather and there risk for heat stroke is greatly increased. We in turn find it more stressful trying to keep our dogs cool and safe this time of year. With all the things circulating the internet its hard to know whats right but were here to remind you that you know your dogs best and our hot dog summer tips.
- Above 20 Degrees many dogs can start to struggle it maybe best to look at adapting walks, outside time and consider cooling your dogs.
- Dogs sweat glands are located in their paws therefore be sure to keep them on surfaces that aren’t hot to avoid burning the pads.
- Allow dogs choice to self regulate and rest in different places around the home. Dogs will find cooler spots and allowing them access to cooler areas can prevent overheating.
